“Adaware” and “Spybot Search and Destroy”.

    Adaware is the best

I also reccomend ccleaner to clean up all your temp and junk files

spybot search and destroy is probably the best for free. You can find it at http://www.spybot.info or http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10401314.html?tag=lst-0-1 <<- Watch out for that crappy ad placement on the part of cnet. Look for the link to “Download Now”

1st, it’s anot a virus, it’s called malwares (spywares, adwares, trojans, etc.)
get the best free real time anti malware available on the net, Spyware Terminator, http://www.spywareterminator.com/

You should just be able to uninstall it from your Add and Remove Programs list.

You might also install and run the following.

    Run Spybot and Adaware weekly.

Download, update and run Spybot—http://www.safer-networking.org/… . Don’t forget to use the Immunize feature.

    Download, update and run Adaware—http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaw…

Now to prevent spyware from being installed in the first place….

    Download SpywareBlaster—http://majorgeeks.com/download2859.html
SpywareBlaster doesn’t scan and clean for spyware – it prevents it from ever being installed.

    It’s main features include:
    - Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
    - Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
    - Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.

There are many excellent free anti-spyware apps available. Free is always he best!

    For your Anti-Adware and Anti-Spyware needs……………

Pick and choose at least 2 anti-spywares from the list below and alternate scanning with them on a regular basis. New spywares are created literally hourly, so no single anti-spyware can really detect all malware. Have at least 2 on hand and alternate scanning with each every few days or so. All are free. All can remove as well as detect.

Yahoo! Toolbar with FREE Norton Spyware Scan:

    Spybot Search and Destroy:

Unfortunately, many “paid for” anti-spyware products are in fact either of limited usefulness or downright scams. When in doubt, look at the list of rogue anti-spyware solutions listed here:
